Karen’s mission is to create beautiful custom tailored clothing that fits and flatters the female body, and to alter commercial garments to achieve the same effects, because life is too short to be frumpy.

Karen is based in Longmont (north of Denver).
Karen Bengtson is an accomplished couture seamstress who began making her own clothes when she was thirteen. She is a life-long student who took every sewing class her middle and high schools had to offer. She has continued to expand her sewing knowledge and skills through participation in professional sewing seminars, workshops, and national conferences.
Karen uses couture techniques when creating any new piece of clothing. She works closely with each client to understand the exact form and function of the piece being made. The client body measurements are used to adjust the pattern and an initial muslin prototype is constructed. Corrections are made to the pattern based on the muslin fitting. Once all corrections are completed, the final garment is sewn together using couture techniques to a custom fit that flatters the client. Karen plans to continue helping women and girls look their best for years to come.
